Home of Champions rodeo gets started in Red Lodge
RED LODGE The team roping tandem of Brant Davis and Sam Levine are in contention after the first day of the Home of Champions PRCA rodeo here Saturday.
Davis, of Sand Coulee, and Levine, of Wolf Creek, roped their calf in 5.2, just one tenth of a second behind second-place Clay Ullery of Red Deer, Alta., and Matt Robertson of Augusta. Texas cowboy Colby Lovell and his Wyoming heeler Bobby Harris are atop the pack with a time of 4.5 seconds.
Day Two of the rodeo starts tonight at 6, and the rodeo wraps up with a 3 p.m. performance Monday.

A demolition crew is hard at work behind a high fence at the Red Deer Lodge, but the manager says the hotel is back in business.
John Mytz says he’s admitted guests to the facility, which has been closed since the roof collapsed over the ballroom in February. Guests are staying in the tower, but the taps are off at Shark’s Garage. No word yet on when the pub will reopen.
