Former Buckeyes QB Terrelle Pryor: 'I still have a life I have to live'
.Gruden opened by asking Pryor about his premature departure from Columbus and the resignation of Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel .
"Pretty much me just making mistakes, you know, especially losing a great coach to this great university is just a disaster. You know, very heartfelt for it, very sorry," said Pryor.
"But at the same time, I still have to move on because I still have a life I have to live. I'm disgusted on what really went down, what had to happen to that university. I regret the fact that Coach Tress had to leave, and I regret the fact that I had to leave. I just wish I could still be there with my teammates. I'm just trying to get used to it and just try to move on. It's hard for me, but it's something I have to do."
Pryor said Tressel was the reason he chose to attend Ohio State in the first place and described him as "one of the most amazing men I ever met. ... He's like a second father to me; I talk to him an awful lot still to this day."
Both were undone after five players, including Pryor, were suspended for accepting improper benefits. Pryor said he wanted to exhaust his eligibility and complete his degree but felt it was best for his teammates that he leave given the scrutiny.
Asked by Gruden to describe himself, Pryor replied: "I'm very heartfelt. I like taking care of people. I like putting people first and me being last. Anytime I see a person on the street, I give them the money I have; I pick 'em up, take 'em to go get get food, you know. It gives me enjoyment, you know, just to put a smile on another person's face -- it means the world to me."
In the NFL's world, he may have to switch positions -- Pryor wants to remain under center -- as many scouts question his ability to play quarterback at the pro level. NFL Network chief draft analyst Mike Mayock recently ballparked Pryor as a fourth-round pick for the supplemental draft .
"Is he raw? Absolutely. Does he have a lot to work on? Yes, he does," said Mayock, "that doesn't even get into all the intangibles off the field."
However none other than Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco vouched for Pryor's abilities as a passer ... though it must be noted both players share agent Drew Rosenhaus (who contends Pryor is a first-rounder).
"The dude can play football. The things you look for in a quarterback, those essentials, those tools, he has them," Ochocinco told The 2 Live Stews on 790 The Zone in Atlanta on Thursday when asked about Pryor.

2 Live Stews lose syndication deal with Sporting News Network ...
The 2 Live Stews has lost its syndication deal with Sporting News Network as of July 1 but will remain on 790/The Zone from 1 to 4 p.m. weekdays.
“It allows them to be more involved with the local teams,” said their agent Norm Schrutt , trying to make the best of it. He also represents several other local personalities including 680/The Fan’s John Kincade and Dave FM’s Mara Davis .
Doug and Ryan Stewart started their syndication deal in early 2008 and amassed as many as 35 radio stations across the country. But Sporting News has been going through ownership changes and cost cuts. The Stews lost some affiliates, and a new contract didn’t pan out.
Sporting News replaced the Stews with a single talk-show host, which is certainly less costly.
“There are two Stews instead of one,” said Ryan. “They are a very good company but our time was up. There’s no love lost. Everything is good.”
Focusing exclusively on their metro Atlanta “dogs and poodles,” as their fans are dubbed, and “being live and local again should be fun,” he added.
As the brothers focused on national sports to accommodate syndication the past three years, ratings for the Stews on the Zone slipped a bit, but the station as a whole has had ratings problems. Nonetheless, the Stews remain the strongest show on the Zone and the station’s performance has steadied in recent months.
The Stews’ TV deal with ESPN-TV, where they appear four times a month to provide commentary, remains in place.

…So much for the “high-tide lifting all boats” nonsense that Steak’s partner said a long time ago in the AJC…I stopped listening to that station as a result, as it’s a show not intended for me….as well as the incomparable arrogance displayed during the morning-clowns show….well, and then there is the verbal-death shows with the likes of Hans, Beau, et. al.
(But, I also refuse to listen to the lying fraud Kincade, Perry, and the other clowns….Thank goodness for iPod, is all I can say….)
Link Report this commentThere isn’t anything racist about the 2 Live Stews radio show. There is definitely something RACIAL about it, but that’s because they are black men who draw on their experiences as black men when talking about sports. They stand out because their perspective is unique, but I have never heard them say anything that would be remotely considered racist in the 10yrs that I’ve been listening to them. Congrats on the move. I prefer it when the focus is on local Atlanta sports teams anyway.
