Looking for tools that can be used today? Join us for this online (webinar) event to explore the importance of employment options for individuals as a key aspect of a career-driven planning process.
Assisting individuals to navigate the service system and achieve meaningful employment in the general workforce can be daunting. This online event will lead attendees through an exploration of employment as a priority in supporting adults with developmental disabilities and employment as a key aspect of leading meaningful lives.
Learning objectives: Purposeful and deliberate planning for employment Strategies and tools for incorporating a person-centered approach Emphasize the importance of choice and informed decision-making in the processTarget Audience:
Staff involved with individual service plan development, day and employment services
We’ll share tools and how to use them, such as:
Personal Profile: used for information-gathering and results in a comprehensive personal profile of an individual, which can then be used as the basis of a job search Situational Assessment: comprehensive information about the strategy of using actual employment and community settings for assessment Consumer Assessment: a form for recording information gathered from the consumer, parents and other family members, friends, staff and observations during the situational assessment Career Exploration Planning: for use between the individual and the team, a planning document that promotes collaboration and outlines concrete steps to be achieved in realistic timeframes. Finding the Right Job: a concrete questionnaire designed to assist the career–seeker to explore interests and preferences through simple and clear questions related to skills and the work environmentParticipants will need a computer with Internet connection and a landline phone for audio.
