• The Village of Seneca will be taking sealed bids for a 1991 Dodge Power Ram 250 truck. Actual mileage is 45274, engine: 51.2 HP V-8,4X4 Drive, plow set up wiring installed, new tires, body of truck is in fair condition. Bid minimum is $500 and this vehicle can be viewed at the Seneca Police Station for those interested. Bids will need to be received by Seneca Village Hall no later than Tuesday, July 5 at 11 a.m. If interested, VIN No. is available upon request.
• Attention local Seneca business owners: The “Welcome Gift Bag” project began in January of 2008. It has been received with great gratitude. To date, several gift bags have been distributed to new members of the Seneca community. At this time, the Seneca Business Association is collecting items for this project. Consider representing your business by donating items/information regarding your business. Coupons, business cards, gifts, pens, key chains, calendars, cups, coozies, welcome letters, etc. are just some of the items that have been collected in the past. • The Seneca American Legion Post: A few tickets left for the July 18 Cubs night game. If you are interested in joining the fun, call Russ Tendall at (815) 357-6521. They have contracted with Green River Bus line for their transportation. Also, on July 10, 2011 the Legion is hosting a “Breakfast in the Park” from 8 a.m. to noon at Seneca’s Crotty Park on Shipyard Road. There will be a flag sale and a Raffle with a chance to win $750.
