Royal Pardon to D.B.Gurung by the 3rd King Jigmi Dorji Wangchuk 

 

 Tashichhodzong,  Thimphu                                         August 6, 1969 

           

 ROYAL NOTIFICATION

I am herewith pleased to notify all concerned that Mr. D.B.Gurung and his Bhutanese colleagues of the Bhutan State Congress are being granted Royal Pardon as from this day to enter and settle down in Bhutan and live as my full subjects.  They will be suitably compensated for any property that may have been confiscated from them in 1950 by the Royal Government of Bhutan.  The Royal Pardon is being granted on the understanding that the Bhutan State Congress has already been dissolved and that Mr. D.B.Gurung and his Bhutanese colleagues will not indulge in any party politics on their return to Bhutan.
